Star Wars Breaks World Box-Office Records

The latest Star Wars movie has broken three Guinness World Records, it
was announced today. They were previously held by Keanu Reeves thrillers,
The Matrix Revolutions and The Matrix Reloaded. Star Wars: Episode III –
Revenge of the Sith has taken the record for highest box office film gross
on an opening day. George Lucas’s final Star Wars movie took an
astonishing £27,395,847 on its release in the US on May 19, compared to
£26.27 million for The Matrix Reloaded.

The Star Wars blockbuster has also broken the record for largest
simultaneous premiere. It was simultaneously released in a record 115
countries on May 19 – eclipsing The Matrix Revolutions which went out in
1994.

It has also claimed the title of widest film print run – the number of films
distributed to cinemas – for a single country. Revenge of the Sith was
given the largest print run of any film in history by 20th Century Fox with
9,000 sent out in the US, compared to 8,517 for The Matrix Reloaded.

Another Star Wars film, Episode I – The Phantom Menace, used to claim
the title of highest box office gross in an opening weekend. But its record
was broken by Spider-Man in 2002.

The new records will feature in the Stop Press Section of the 2006 edition
of Guinness World Records, to be published in September.Posted by Hello

MAN to MAN

"Man to Man" is an epic about anthropologists who hunt and capture
pygmies for study back in Europe, in an attempt to illustrate the link
between man and ape. This French film had limited release on
Wednesday. The film is directed by Régis Wargnier based on a story
that he wrote with Willium Boyd. Among the foreign films released so
far in USA, "Man to Man" certainly finds a high rank in terms of the
quality of cinematography, authenticity, acting and direction and
presentation of drama elements in it. This must be a must see for
true cinema lovers this weekend. Posted by Hello

"Crash"

Crash is a rare cinematic event that America was waiting for a long time.
It is a film that challenges audiences to look inward at their own
prejudices and presents a provocative look at the complexities of racial
conflict in America. No one is Hero here. No one is a villain. All are normal
people - normal characters made up with good and bad. It is no doubt a
great movie and will remain to be so in the list of 2005 that we may like
to watch in future years to come.

The film is the (feature-film) directing debut of Emmy Award-winning
writer/producer Paul Haggis. The story and screenplay is also by him.
Sandra Bullock leads the cast list and it is great to watch her in a serious
movie like this one - a good transformation. The cast includes Don
Cheadle, Matt Dillon, Jennifer Esposito, William Fichtner, Brendan Fraser,
Terrence Howard, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Thandie Newton, Ryan
Phillippe and Larenz Tate, Nona Gaye.

The film is rated 'R'. For more details visit crashfilm.com Posted by Hello

Orlando Bloom in "Kingdom of Heaven"

Orlando Bloom, a 28 year old from Canterbury, England, is the new James
Bond! The next Bond film -- a revisitation of 'Casino Royale' -- sees the
fresh faced Orlando take on the role of a young James: a clever teenager
with a quite pronounced preference for espionage.

Orlando Bloom has featured in some of Hollywood's biggest blockbusters
over the last few years. We can not forget Paris in 'Troy'. His other hits
include 'Pirates of Caribbean', 'The Lord Of The Rings', 'Black Hawk Down'.

At present he is enjoying his headlining status as leading man in the
upcoming mega-budget epic, Ridley Scott's Kingdom Of Heaven. His role
is that of Balian, a blacksmith in the middle ages. After the critically
lauded 'Black Hawk Down', this is his second film with the director. Scott
makes use of the advantage of Orlando's success as an actor specializing
in period cinema by hurling him in the middle of the Crusades. The cast
includes great actors like Liam Neeson and Jeremy Irons. Bloom's
character is that of a protagonist, a blacksmith who doesn't believe in
God or religion. But his lack of belief is soon questioned.

'Kingdom Of Heaven' hits theatres globally on May 6, this Friday.
