The Island

The story of The Island is set in
future - mid 21st century. If you
were always thinking of making
a great film someday on 'clones'
but not finding time to take the
initiative, well, your chance is
over. Someone (in this case,
Michael Bay, the celebrated
director of "Armageddon," "Pearl
Harbor") has made it ... already!

Lincoln Six-Echo (played by
Ewan McGregor : Remember him
in "Star Wars: Episodes I, II & III,"
and "Moulin Rouge!") is a resident
of a seemingly utopian but
contained facility. Like all others
living in such a carefully controlled
environment, Lincoln desires to move to "The Island"—the last
uncontaminated spot on the planet. In the mean time he arrives at a
startling realisation that everything about his existence is a lie; He is
actually more valuable dead than alive -- all inhabitants of the facility are
nothing but human clones whose only purpose of existence is to die and
provide “spare parts” for their original human counterparts.

Together with a stunningly beautiful fellow resident Jordan Two-Delta
(played by Scarlett Johansson: "Lost in Translation," "Girl With a Pearl
Earring"), Lincoln makes a daring escape to the outside world he’s never
known. Can they really escape the sinister network of the human
organization that has investment on them?

The film is rated PG-13. Here's the official site of "The Island".
Oh! Forgot to tell! It releases nationwide tomorrow!
