War of the Worlds

"No one would have believed in the last years of the Nineteenth century
that this world was being watched keenly and closely by intelligences
greater than man's and yet as mortal as his own; that as men busied
themselves about their various concerns they were scrutinized and
studied, perhaps almost as narrowly as a man with a microscope might
scrutinize the transient creatures that swarm and multiply in a drop of
water."

... So starts the all-time favorite science fiction by H.G. Wells. After
almost half a century after the first cinematic version (in 1953) was
released, Paramount Pictures and Dreamworks Pictures are bringing
back a modern version of "War of the Worlds" to theaters on June 29th.
In the movie they changed the phrase "...in the last years of the
Nineteenth Century" by "... in the early years of the Twenty-first century".

The Film is directed by Steven Spielberg and casting includes Tom Cruise,
Tim Robbins, Miranda Otto, Dakota Fanning. The film is rated PG-13.
