Se, Jie (Lust, Caution)

The 64th Venice Film Festival came to an end on September 8th. In the awards ceremony that took place in the Palazzo del Cinema, the Golden Lion for Best Film went to 'Se, Jie' (Lust, Caution) directed by Ang Lee, the Academy Award-winning director of "Brokeback Mountain" and "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". From the trend in last few years we can guess that it would also be a strong contender for Gloden Globe and Oscar.

The film, based on a 26-page short story by famed Chinese writer Eileen Chang, is about a group of patriotic students who plot to assassinate the intelligence chief in the Japanese-backed Chinese government during the World War II era. This startling erotic espionage thriller set in Shanghai of 1942 stars Asian cinema icon Tony Leung opposite screen newcomer Tang Wei.
