Elysium

Matt Demon and Jodie Foster lead the cast of Neill Blomkamp's shrewdly revved-up and exciting dystopian thriller 'Elysium'. Blomkamp had earlier showcased his talent in his amazing first feature, "District 9" (2009) with the crazed spectacle of future decay.

Set in the year 2154, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. Much of it takes place in a crumbling shantytown Los Angeles. Earth has become a great big slovenly police state, with citizens kept in check by clanging robot officers programmed to presume that you're guilty. That's when Max, a former car thief who now works on an assembly line, takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.

The film is rated R for strong bloody violence and language throughout. It runs for 109 minutes. Here is the official site: itsbetterupthere.com .

2 Guns

'Contraband' star Mark Wahlberg teamed up again with that film's director Baltasar Kormákur for the action thriller '2 Guns'. Denzel Washington, Mark Wahlberg, Paula Patton line up to give you an action-packed drama which you will enjoy -- well, if you enjoy such films.

For the past 12 months, DEA agent Bobby Trench and U.S. naval intelligence officer Marcus Stigman have been reluctantly attached at the hip. Working undercover as members of a narcotics syndicate, each man distrusts his partner as much as the criminals they have both been tasked to take down.

When their attempt to infiltrate a Mexican drug cartel and recover millions goes haywire, Trench and Stigman are suddenly disavowed by their superiors. Now that everyone wants them in jail or in the ground, the only person they can count on is the other. Unfortunately for their pursuers, when good guys spend years pretending to be bad, they pick up a few tricks along the way.

As can be easily guessed from the name, no wonder that the film is rated 'R' for violence throughout, language and brief nudity. It runs for 209 minutes. Here is the official site: 2guns.net.
